Yesterday Artemio Mejía Chávez, police chief in Chilpancingo, Guerrero, was murdered by a group of armed men in fake Federal Investigation Agency uniforms. The group of 15 men armed with AR-15 and AK-47 rifles established themselves about 300 meters from the police chief's house. The chief, known by the nickname "Commander Cobra," came by to see what was going on, and as he was returning to his vehicle he was shot. Those accompanying the police chief engaged in a gunfight with the armed men. One of the men was killed, and another wounded, and a police officer and a civilian were also wounded.
